Our week's agenda

This morning, Jason is off to Washington D.C. and will be returning home on Saturday. It has been a long day, but to keep our minds off Daddy, we kept busy by going to the kids' last summer reading program meeting. The kids are very excited to not have to meet their deadline any longer. Shane and Kaylie each read 30 books in the 6 week program. And Gracie was read to 20 minutes every day, (or there abouts.) Needless to say maybe I am the excited one to have it done! There just seems to be not enough time in the day to get everything done, let alone read numerous books. The Library is having a celebration party on Saturday for all the kids who participated and are passing out T-shirts that are well deserved.
After the Library today we headed to the Johnson County Fair. This is where the pictures would be added had my battery not been dead when we arrived at the fair. I was excited to scrapbook some summer events that we did, but I guess the fair won't be in it. Just my luck. We had fun though, the kid's favorite was seeing a big cow's butt, and a pig's butt. LOL! (Maybe they need to get out more.) And they LOVED the two rides that I could afford, along with a funnel cake and a lemonade to share.
My highlight was seeing a democrat and a republican getting into a fight. There was no blood, no fists thrashing about, but there were almost some tears, as emotions were running high.
So that was our day. Tomorrow we plan to have a down day and just hang out together. Thursday we are touring the Iowa City Airport as a group of the MOMS Club. And also RAGBRI will be in North Liberty. Friday is another down day and Saturday is the Library party. After that Jason will be home! :)

Silly Little Gracie!

Tonight, I thought Gracie had went up stairs, so when I called for her there she was sitting on the couch, and this is what she looked like! I had to run for the camera!! I just can't get enough of her!

Pictures from Adventureland!

Of Course these pictures are not in order, but it was a fun-filled day. So fun that me and Jason are still recovering from it. I think we are a little too old for the rides. The last time we were at Adventureland was 17 years ago or so. One time on the Tornado and I am still feeling it. The kids had so much fun! It was a great day, and really lucked out with perfect weather for being July.

Happy 4th of July everyone!

We are heading to Altoona to my sister's today. Watching fireworks tonight with them and spending the night. Then tomorrow we are meeting up with more family members to eat breakfast and head to Adventureland! This will be the kids' first time there and are beyond excited. They only know what they see from the commercials. I think it will be a fun-filled day, and of course tiring for the adults. I will have pictures posted after this weekend. Happy 4th everyone!
